FAQ and General Information

How do I book an appointment with you?

The only way to book an appointment with me is by submitting a booking request form during the open booking period. My books typically open 2-3 times per year. Please note that this is the ONLY way to book with me. I do not read emails or DMs explaining tattoo ideas and if you email/call/DM looking for an appointment you will not get a response. I will only read your tattoo concept if you fill out a form.

This is an important way for me to maintain healthy boundaries within my work. Thank you for understanding!

Once you have submitted your request, please allow up to 2 weeks for a response, and be sure to check your junk mail!

  • Please note: I do not take all projects. Please look at my work, check out my social media, and read all the information I have provided before submitting a request form. If I decide that I am not the best fit for your project, I will still get back to you with some recommendations for artists who might be a better choice for you.

Pricing Info

If your request is accepted, I require a $200 deposit which you will pay when you schedule using my Calendly link (I will email you this link if your project is accepted).

This deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE and comes out of the total cost of your tattoo. So if your tattoo is quoted at $500, your balance the day of the tattoo will be $300.

I work on a flat rate basis, meaning I don’t count hours and the price is the price regardless of how long it takes to make the tattoo. If your proposal is accepted I will email you with booking information and a quote for your tattoo. Your price will not change once you have this quote. Please note that starting in 2026 I will charge an additional 3.5% for payment taken via card or Venmo. I strongly advise cash.

I occasionally offer a sliding scale rate to clients who may not have the privilege to afford my pricing. These sliding scale rates are prioritized towards BIPOC and trans/non-binary clients. Please do not abuse this as I cannot afford to do this for everyone.

Can I See My Design Ahead of Time?

Starting in 2026 I will only send artwork for large/complex pieces, and I will be sending the image as I’ll make it for the stencil, so it is not intended to look like a finished work of art. Small and medium works will not have the design sent ahead of time. It takes me as long and often longer than making the actual tattoo to fully render designs with shading etc. and by slimming down the process I can offer more tattoo appointments!

To help visualize, here are examples of a fully realized drawing (took ~4 hours to draw), the linework I use for the stencil (what designs will now be sent as), and the finished tattoo (the real artwork!):

My booking process is extensive and involved for a reason. Please be extremely detailed in your booking form submission and submit reference photos as well as very detailed information about what you want.

Once your project has been accepted and an email thread has been created, you are always welcome to send additional reference images and information.

I want you to love your design. That’s why it’s essential that you are descriptive and concise in your initial booking form.

What if I don’t like my design?

I will never take offense to you disliking my design or wishing to make changes. However, I do ask that you thoroughly research my work and make sure that I am the right artist for you before booking with me. I work best when there is a mutual trust between me and the client.

Should you decide that you don’t love the design, we will address whether a re-draw, cancellation or reschedule is in order. In the event that you cancel, your deposit will be forfeited. Small (less than 10-15 minutes to change) design changes can be made the day-of, but large changes will require a scheduling change and forfeit of your deposit.

Where are you located?

Meadowlark Tattoo is located at 1049 Robertson Street, Fort Collins, CO 80526.

If you have an appointment scheduled with me, you will receive an email reminder the day before your appointment with detailed instructions on where to go. Please note that my studio is in a shared building and that it is very disruptive to my building mates if people show up without an appointment. I do not, and will never, accept walk-ins, same-day, or next-day appointments. All tattoos are scheduled in advance and it is important that you only come to the studio during your scheduled appointment time to prevent disrupting my building mates (and me!)

Can I bring a friend to my appointment?

Yes. One guest is allowed to accompany you to your appointment. Please keep in mind that my studio is quite small. Guests must respect the space and not disturb anyone else in the building.

I have a zero-tolerance policy for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, fatphobia, or any form of discrimination. If you or your guest fail to comply with this policy, you will be blacklisted from my studio and asked to leave immediately.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

In the event that you need to cancel or reschedule, please give me 48-hours notice if at all possible. I understand that life happens. I am willing to be flexible if you are experiencing an emergency, sudden illness, unsafe driving conditions, etc. However, please be communicative and respectful of my time.

If given at least a 48-hour notice, I will reschedule you free of charge. A cancellation of your appointment without rescheduling will result in a loss of your deposit.

Additionally, If you are late more than 15 minutes without giving me a heads up, it will result in a loss of deposit. Please text or email me to let me know if you are running late. Depending on my schedule for the day I may or may not be able to accommodate delays and we may need to reschedule, resulting in the loss of your deposit.

Do you tattoo in color?

Mostly no. I am primarily a black and grey tattoo artist and this is where my artistic skills shine. I am competent and capable of tattooing color, but I will typically not take color projects. If you look at my portfolio you will see that when I do use color it is sparing and a highlight rather than a full-color/color-packed tattoo. I never tattoo in only color, I do not do color line work tattoos, and I do not do watercolor tattoos.

Do you fix tattoos/do cover-ups?

Depending on the project, yes! Please submit a request during my open booking period and include a photo of the tattoo you want covered up. Please note that coverups tattoos typically need to be larger and darker than the existing tattoo, and that sometimes laser removal treatments are needed to get the existing tattoo light enough for a successful coverup.

How can I get in touch with you?

The only way to get in touch with me about tattoos is by filling out my booking form once my books open. As a gentle reminder, I will never read an email or a DM explaining a tattoo.

This is a HARD boundary moving forward. If you don’t fill out the form, I will not get back to you.

My email and phone number are below if you need to get in touch post-tattoo or for something else. Please be conscientious about my contact information. If you spam me, or blow up my phone, or contact me about a tattoo using email or phone, I will block you, report you, and will not work with you in the future.

COVID-19 and Health and Safety

I am fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have all up to date boosters. I have all medically indicated vaccinations including MMR, tetanus, rabies (I volunteer in wildlife rehab), pneumonia, and shingles. My expectation is for my clients to have all their medically indicated vaccines. I no longer check vaccine cards, but if I find out you are unvaccinated I will ask you to leave and/or I will not offer you an appointment at Meadowlark Tattoo. This is not open for negotiation. I have a great many reasons why it is critically important that I am vaccinated and that I am not exposed to unvaccinated people. You are free to make your own choices, and those choices might not fit with mine. Please be open and transparent, knowing that I am protecting the lives and health of many people by insisting on appropriate and medically indicated vaccinations— you can injure, harm, or kill me or people I love/innocent people if you are not honest about your vaccination status.

I hold an up-to-date bloodborne pathogen certification, CPR certification, and EMT certification. You are welcome to ask to be shown any and all of these certifications. I will always exceed cleanliness and safety standards for tattoo studios. If you have any questions at all about health and safety, please don’t hesitate to ask!
